This past week I put together the official webpage for R&D editions, www.rndeditions.com, with pages about the portfolio and artists that I have work with before R&D and current ones. This will be the new face for promotion and such, but I will continue the blog as the forum for updates and experimentation.
Since the last post, other than the website not a lot has been going on. Last week I was on a mini vacation with my wife to Asheville for our anniversary. It was a cool area and I can see why the Black Mountain College took up shop in that area of the Appalachia. The city of Asheville has definitely kept up the art vibe with the River Arts District and the overall feel of the area.
This coming week I have a meeting about a possible commission print and with one of the current artists I am collaborating with, Tom Petzwinkler. This Saturday is the is a printmaking symposium focused around the legacy and history of Robert Blackburn of the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop in New York City, NY. There will be talks all day about his affect on Modernism and Contemporary printmaking and specifically printmaking in the Washington, DC metro region.
Then on November 15th, I will be giving a demonstration on laser engraved woodcut printing at the Pyramid Atlantic Book Arts Fair in Silver Spring, MD. It will be around 3:30 so if you are in the region and want to see how they are printed in person register and come on by.
